American State Geologists (AASG)
AASG is an organization of the chief executives of the state geological surveys in 50 states and Puerto Rico. The responsibilities differ from state to state, but almost all function as an information source for their state government, and some have regulatory responsibilities for oil and natural gas.

(API)
API is the major national trade association representing the entire petroleum industry: exploration and production, transportation, refining, and marketing. With petroleum councils in 33 states, it is a forum for all parts of the oil and natural gas industry to pursue priority public policy objectives and advance the interests of the industry in a legally appropriate manner.
Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP)
The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) is the voice of the upstream
oil and natural gas industry in Canada. CAPP represents 140 member companies who
explore for, develop and produce more than 97 per cent of Canada's natural gas,
crude oil, oil sands and elemental sulphur.

CEA is a national non-profit group whose objectives are to advance the state-of-the-art of well completion technology by providing a forum for the presentation of proposals for related R&D projects and advising academic organizations and other groups of the needs and interests of its members.

DEA was formed to advance the technology related to drilling wells by providing a forum to present proposals for industry drilling-related projects. It explores the different levels of interest in potential drilling related problems, and aids in the development of future industry sponsored projects.

Council (DPC)
The Domestic Petroleum Council is a national trade association
representing large U.S. independent producers. The producers they represent
drill nearly a third of U.S. oil and gas wells, produce one fifth of natural gas
and 14% of domestic oil production. DPC works for sound energy, environmental
and related public policies.

Since 1974, The Energy Advocates has been committed to sharing the truth on
energy issues. The issues that face the energy industry are economic,
environmental and involve matters of national security. They continue to educate
the public while improving the industry's image. This is accomplished through

Energy Research Clearing House
(ERCH)
ERCH was established in 1992 to undertake the task of facilitating research projects which member companies agreed to fund jointly. It also helps industry become aware of R&D sources. Membership is open to oil and gas companies, service companies, and other interested organizations.

Research Institute (GTRI)
The Geotechnology Research Institute, a division of the Houston
Advanced Research Center, conducts research to enhance methods of oil and gas
exploration, specializing in geophysics research. It develops new technology to
meet growing market demands and makes the results of this research available for
industry.
Ground Water Protection
Council (GWPC)
GWPC is a nonprofit organization whose members consist of state and federal agencies, industry representatives, environmentalists and citizens. Its purpose is to promote and ensure the use of best management practices and fair but effective ground water protection laws.
International Association of
Drilling Contractors (IADC)
IADC is a national association designed to promote commitment to safety, preservation of the environment and advances in drilling technology. Through conferences, training seminars and a comprehensive network of technical publications, IADC continually fosters education and communications within the upstream petroleum industry.

Geophysical Contractors (IAGC)
IAGC is an international trade association which represents the independent service companies and geophysical departments of integrated oil companies. Geophysical equipment manufacturers, data processing centers, data brokerage firms, geophysical consultants, and other suppliers also are members.
Interstate Oil and
Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC)
IOGCC represents the governors of 36 states that produce virtually all the domestic oil and natural gas. Since its creation in 1935, the IOGCC has worked to carry out its mission by assisting states: maximizing domestic oil and natural gas production, minimizing the waste of irreplaceable natural resources, and protecting human and environmental health through sound regulation.

ITF is a not for profit organization established by 15 oil and gas operating
companies. ITF is the vehicle through which these companies fund joint
industry projects to meet the technology needs of the UK oil and gas industry.
National Association of Black Geologists and Geophysicists
(NABGG)
The National Association of Black Geologists and Geophysicists (NABGG) is
a nonprofit organization established in June of 1981 by a group of black
geoscientists in the Houston/Dallas area. The NABGG has greatly impacted the
geosciences by supporting the primary mission to increase diversity in the earth
sciences.

Royalty Owners (NARO)
NARO, which is the only national non-profit association for royalty owners, is dedicated to serving the needs of the nation's 4 million owners of sub-surface oil and gas rights. NGSA is a non-profit trade association that represents integrated and independent companies that produce and market domestic natural gas. Established in 1965, NGSA encourages expanded use of natural gas and a regulatory climate that fosters competitive markets.

Association (NOIA)
NOIA is the only national trade association representing all facets of the domestic offshore petroleum industry. (NPC)
NPC is a federally chartered and privately funded advisory committee of approximately 175 persons. The purpose of NPC is solely to advise, inform, and make recommendations to the U.S. Secretary of Energy with respect to any matter relating to oil and natural gas.

Log Analysts (SPWLA)
SWPLA is a non-profit scientific society of almost 3,200 members worldwide who are interested in thefield of formation evaluation through use of well logging techniques. Formed in 1959, it promotes recognition of log analysis as an integral tool to measure new formation parameters. SPWLA also promotes the interchange of ideas to enhance the data interpretation.
