Committed Professionals Recognized

Jim Daniels Receives IOGCC's 1st Warwick Downing Award—During its mid-year issues summit in Alaska, the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC) conferred its 1st Warwick Downing Award on Jim Daniels, President, Murfin Drilling Co., Kansas. Jim has been IOGCC's associate representative from Kansas since 1993. He has participated in IOGCC's Public Outreach, Energy Resources Research and Steering Committees. He has chaired the Chairman's Stewardship Awards since 1998. Jim is past Chairman of the Producer Advisory Group (PAG) for PTTC's North Midcontinent Region and continues to serve within the PAG. Congratulations to Jim for his years of faithful service to industry.

Ernie Mancini, Distinguished Research Professor—Ernie Mancini, founding Director of PTTC's Eastern Gulf Region, recently received the University of Alabama's (UA) highest honor, Distinguished Research Professor. This recognizes achieving national and international recognition in the holder's field and scholarly or research productivity of the highest order. He is also founding Director of the Center for Sedimentary Basin Studies at UA. Mancini has led many DOE-supported, geological-oriented research projects involving industry in the Eastern Gulf Region.
