| With
the "soft" outlook for natural gas prices, oil is
"King" and Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) is a solution
applicable to both mature and recently developed oil
reservoirs. This
April 6th workshop in Wichita, preceding the
TORP Oil Recovery Conference focuses on IOR
screening to determine if your reservoir is an IOR
target --- and field application case studies. A
variety of chemical and gas injection approaches are
discussed and illustrated through field histories
case studies. Is your reservoir a good IOR
candidate? New technology you might want to
consider. |

2011 Forecast -- Positive Outlook for Well Servicing
Firms (Well Servicing magazine, Jan/Feb 2011)
To quote the article --- "As the industry heads into 2011, anecdotal
conversations with well servicing firms across the country reflect a
positive outlook. Reports from the field find utilization strong, especially
for regional firms, with contractors noting that they expect demand for
wellsite services will grow in 2011. There are also expectations for
improved pricing, though the financial picture in 2011 will benefit from
greater utilization of existing equipment rather than a sharp increase in
hourly rates."
While at the website, take a few moments to read an article in the same
issue titled "Champions
of Change." The author notes that most organizations and individuals
change on a regular basis with or without a conscious strategy to do so. Are
you changing? Undoubtedly. Read the article and learn from other's
experience how to positively manage change. |

Morgan County, IL Selected as Site for FutureGen 2.0 (2/28/11)
Key factors influencing Morgan County's selection were its high
quality geology and close proximity to the Meredosia power plant.
There has been a strong show of support from community business and
elected leaders, as well as directly affected landowners. Ameren
Energy Resources power plant in Meredosia, Illinois will be
repowered with advanced oxy-combustion technology provided by Babcox
and Wilcox. Should concerns arise in the future about the Morgan
County site, alternative sites have been identified in Christian and
Douglas counties. |
