In lieu of our normal trivia question, PTTC is taking this opportunity to alert history buffs of an event on April 20-23, 2006 in Wichita—the International Oil History Symposium. Oil and gas museum directors, educators and oilfield historians will meet to share strategies and educational resources for increasing public awareness of the history of the E&P industry. Co-hosted by the Petroleum History Institute, Oil City, Pa., and American Oil & Gas Historical Society, Washington, DC, the three-day program includes a guided tour of the Frontier Oil Refinery in El Dorado, and motor tour of Kansas oilfields by the Kansas Geological Survey.
